I LOVED the maths workshop! My daughter (4) and son (3) have started to enjoy counting! It used to be such a task to get them to count but now that I’ve tried some fun things with them – e.g. How many chocolates did Mom and Dad eat last night? – count the wrappers. Who do you think ate more, Mom or Dad? How many do you think they each ate? – e.g. Estimate how many sweeties are in a box/packet and then count them before eating them.
After playing these and similar fun counting games, I hear them counting when they are playing on their own! They count all the time! I’m looking forward to setting up a little “shop” and giving them some pocket money with which they can purchase little things like sweeties and stickers. Thanks for all the GREAT ideas.

The Workshop run for parents by Rene at our school was simply fantastic. Not only was it informative and practical but also a relaxed, fun and unthreatening environment for parents to learn in.
